Willy y Noura
Willy and Noura, international dancers, choreographers and teachers, partners both in dance and in private life, became world champions of Hong Kong Salsa Congress championship in 2014, performing a Colombian salsa choreography. After studying as competitive dancers at the academy Fuego Latino Roma, headed by the teacher Simone Ripa and certified by FIDS (Italian Dance Sport Federation), they focused on studying Los Angeles salsa style and Colombian salsa style with the dancer and choreographer Marvin Ramos. Moreover, they deepened studies of musicality, culture and technique with the teacher Pedro Gomes and others salsa and bachata international artists. Passionate about traditional and Dominican bachata, and popularizers of this discipline, in 2012 they undertook teaching in Rome, where they established their dance school “A Paso De Azuquita”, at dance academy Novadanza (Via Degli Abeti 67/A).
Later on, they also started to collaborate with other renowned schools in Italy and abroad, as teachers of Dominican Fusion Bachata in several workshops and masterclasses. Meanwhile, in 2015 they officially started their career as pros, recognized today all over the world in the casts of the most important and representative congresses, with a remarkable average of workshop hours and shows, on the most prestigious and renowned stages, next to artists already established in this sector.
Since 2015, they have been confirmed in the casts of the most famous congresses, among which:
Europe Bachata Master (Milan) - Bachata Day (Milan) - Dancin Bachata Fusion Festival (Milan) - Salamanca Bachatea (Salamanca) - Bachatea World Congress (Madrid) - To Dance Latin Festival (Turin) - Lions Bachatea Festival (Alicante) - Paris Bachata Festival (Paris) - Munich Salsa Congress (Munich) - BCN Sensual (Barcelona).
Their agenda includes many more international and intercontinental congresses and festivals, such as in Arab Emirates, Turkey, Russia, Brazil, Australia, Dominican Republic, USA, Romania, Denmark, Austria and much more.
Moreover, in 2018 they gave birth to the choreographic project “Dominican Flow”, with two different levels. The Team Trainers Alessandro Surdo/Antonella Maraschio and Antonio La Paglia/Ester Pergola have already taken over this project in Lecce and in Palermo, respectively.
Finally, Willy and Noura are also representatives of foreign artistic relations and choreographic managers for the project “AND Bachata”, established by Mr. Victor Minaia, in collaboration with Unesco, aimed to recognize and to divulge Bachata as World Cultural Heritage all over the world.
For this reason, they have been invited to perform in Santo Domingo at a live concert of Anthony Santos, the most institutional and famous bachata singer. He is part of the project too.
Willy was born in Lima, Peru, in 1988.
He has started to approach to the world of salsa thanks to his sister’s encouragement and insistence. Indeed, she had realized his potential talent and his real passion for dance and she has enrolled him in a school, specialized in this discipline.
He directly started his career as dancer in Italy, when he was 18, with Simone Ripa, teacher of “Fuego Latino” school.
Very soon, he has moved to competitive dance, competing in A2 Class.
Noura was born in Rome, in 1988.
She approached to the world of dance when she was 4/5, attending classes of introductory ballet at D’ART school, in Rome.
Two years later, she enrolled in the Franch Academy “Maison De La Danse”, headed by the teacher Denys Ganio, great dancer and choreographer, “etoile” of the “Ballet National de Marseille”, performing during the decade 80s-90s. Among her teacher, we can mention Emanuela Cerreto (Rome National Academy), Cristiana Milioni (Rome Opera House), and Virginie Morgan (Paris Opera). For several years, she had also taken piano classes with the pianist Mariana Bolojovi (Moscow Bolshoi Theatre).
She debuted as semi-pro at Teatro Olimpico in Rome. However, at the age of 16, she was forced to quit this activity, because this fulltime commitment was incompatible with her high school studies obligations.
Then, she started to dedicate herself to other dance disciplines, (modern dance, hip-hop, belly dance with the Syrian teacher Mona, at IALS dance school in Rome).
In 2011, she started to study and practice Caribbean dances at Fuego Latino” school in Rome.
In short time, she succeeded in showing an incredible talent and a natural versatility, which allowed her to take part in several A2 Class competitions.
